DIMENSIONS International College top 5 weekend getaways for December

The end of the year is approaching and as luck would have it, we are set to enjoy 2 long weekends! Instead of staying in Singapore, why not take a quick getaway to these nearby yet great holiday locations!

1. Bali
If you’re looking for a place with an amazing scenery and a laid back atmosphere, then look no further. Also known as the Land of the Gods, Bali boasts magnificent views of towering volcanoes and an expanse of lush terraced rice fields that are sure to calm the most stressed out of nerves. At night, Bali comes to life with its bustling nightlife. From clubs and bars to lively food stalls, there is never a dull moment to be had in Bali.

2. A Kelong Get-away

Looking to do some fishing and having quiet time? Why not try one of the many Kelongs off the coast of Batam? Kelongs are the perfect for Ocean Lovers. With the tranquil view of the open ocean coupled with a constant bracing sea breeze,  you will experience a sensation of relaxation unlike anything that Singapore could offer.

3. Labuan Bajo, Indonesia

For the adventure and trekking junkies out there, you can have an almost Robinson Crusoe-esque experience at Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. With sparkling blue waters and white sandy beaches, Labuan Bajo is a paradise for those looking to get away from the city.  Explore the numerous islands dotting the horizon, many of which no man has ever set foot upon. For all you exploring enthusiasts out there, this is the place to be!

4. Sipadan Island

Constantly ranked in the list of top ten diving locations in the world, Sipadan is a paradise for divers located in the Eastern coast of Sabah. Divers will be treated to awe-inspiring views of the rich marine habitat on the seabed. For those without a diving license, snorkelling is also available in these beautiful waters, rested over a prehistoric volcano.

5. Hong Kong

If you’re still a city person at heart, and your idea of a perfect vacation is another bustling city, why not try Hong Kong? One of the most dynamic cities in the world, Hong Kong is said to be a home away from home for Singaporeans. Not only are there amazing attractions set on this island, Hong Kong is home to amazing food and also gives travellers a great chance to shop till they drop.

Being well-known for our multi-racial and cultural society, Singapore can be seen as one of the better choices in Asia when it comes to working abroad.
